There are at least 2 closed loops at idle. One for engine speed (850 +- 50 RPM), and the other for fuel mixture. This is explained in Manual 2.7 Engine Management System Trionic OBD II.
The maps are a starting point for the adaptive - learning functions of the T5 fuel delivery. It has short and long term retention of fuel trim.
When it came out the T5 was very advanced, and can hold its own with many controls today.
