I just replaced the clutch master cylinder on mu '87 9kT, and can't get any peddle pressure.
I replaced it because the clutch wouldn't full disengage in the mornings (soft pedal for half the travel), but was fine in the afternoon.
The job went smoothly, and I pressure bled the system using the bike inner tub method, which seemed to go fine (plenty of fluid flowing, bubbles at first then none). However, I had no peddle pressure at all after this (the pedal wasn't on the floor, but it was extremely soft and didn't disengage the clutch at all). I bled three more time with no progress.
I replaced the slave on another early 9k and used the same bleeding method and don't remember having any issues, so I don't think it's a technique issue.
Is there anything at all that I could be missing? Has anyone heard of defective new clutch master cylinders being an issue? I don't even have a clue as to what else to try.
Thanks!
Craig
