Radiator Cooling Fan Wiring

The radiator cooling fan on my '93 9000 CSE needs to be replaced. I found a replacement, which was really hard to come by. The fan showed up and is wired for a single speed fan, but the car is wired for a two speed fan. It seems as though I can plug the new fan into the wiring harness for low speed only. Does anyone see any problem with this? If so, is there a work-around?
Thanks!
