When cold try turning the key to the start position (without engaging the starter) and wait for 3-4 seconds. This allows the fuel system time to be pressurized. Then start the car. If this process reduce the crank time it points to fuel pump check valves as potential source of the problem. See link below for more info when I was heading down the same path you are.
