hot and cold spots Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Thu, 6 Oct 2011 13:52:12 In Reply to: Not really, Gene N [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 5 Oct 2011 05:37:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
items that are hot:
compressor
compressor inlet and fitting
compressor outlet and fitting
condenser inlet and fitting
items that are ambient or slightly warm:
large tube from expansion valve to compressor
condenser
condenser outlet and fitting
evaporator
items that are cold:
drier inlet and fitting
drier
drier outlet and fitting
small tube from drier to expansion valve
This seems to point to either a blockage/restriction in either the drier or the line from the condenser to the drier. The line is so well insulated, it's impossible to tell if there's a temperature change in the line somewhere, or the drop is occurring at the drier and conducting heat away from the inlet and line fitting. I guess I'll order the drier, but before installing it I'll take of the hose and see if it's obstructed, since drier replacement is such a big job.
