Worth saving my 92T/5spd? Posted by ToddM [Email] (#887) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ToddM) on Thu, 13 Oct 2011 10:44:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm at a crossroads. 252,000 miles. Trans is shot. Clutch slave gone. Headgasket is leaking. Body damage on driver's side rear from a rear impact, which also ruined rear muffler. TCS delete that works 85% of what the factory designed (that's a whole other post!) Moderate oil leak.
Interior is 8/10. Great headliner. Great seats. Everything works. Ice cold air. Good leather, wood insert dashboard and 9/10 tuape dashtop. Car is 98% rust free. The only rust is a 1"x1/4" spot behind the turnsignal (sand and paint) Body damge is minimal. As I was hit from behind, the rear bumper took most of the impact. It also buckled the quarter panel, but the hatch and doors open fine.
Everything is fixable. Question is: Should I part out and invest in a better condition 9000? Should I keep the car and find another 9000? Parts are a pain to find for 92T TCS cars. Or should I dive in, drop in a used trans, fix the head and forget the body damage.
What would you guys do?
