If they came off hard, put a little oil on the threads of each bolt, or into the bolt hole, and run it in and out a few times with wheel off. Then they'll go on and come off normally, like a newer car.
A little oil won't make them tend to loosen up. Most of it will soon be gone, but it helps break up the rust that builds on the threads over the years.
Also, be aware that if your tires last got mounted by a garage or tire store, they probably way overtightened them with an air wrench.
