unlike derf's... however I would still recommend going a considerable distance to avoid owning one. They use a one-year oddball engine management system (Trionic 5.2) which is a screwed up hybrid of bits from the '91/'92 LH2.4.2&DC/APC cars and the '94/up T5.5 cars. Plus ETS/TCS is mandatory and you had better be willing to understand this fabulously complex system inside out and backwards, also willing to understand how it interrelates with ABS, and even further if it's an automatic '93 there's a further layer of complexity (ASR system) not to mention a stupid motor that controls yanking on the kick down cable... not to mention you MUST have access to an ISAT or Tech 2 diagnostic computer to really troubleshoot this system. Few Saab mechanics who are still working today really understand it. It is largely unsupportable.
I would recommend holding out for a '96/up model if you must have a 9000 -- they are considerably more sorted out. The '94 and '95 model years are not bad as long as you don't end up with optional TCS.
I wouldn't touch '92 either. '91 is great, arguably the best next to the '96/up cars.
