RAVC1, Adam's list is primarily tires that are only available in Europe. I am happy with the General Altimax that I have had on my 9000 for a few years, and am also happy with the Continental Extreme Winter Contact on our Audi A6 Quattro (first winter for these). The Altimax looks like more of a real snow tire and has 1/32" deeper tread, but the Continentals are a higher speed and load rated tire.
If you are really interested in getting new snows for your 9000, a suggested lower-cost method is:
1. find some used 9000 alloy wheels online or at a junkyard - make sure that they are straight.
2. buy tires from TireRack
3. get the tires mounted somewhere at a low cost. The PepBoys by my house wanted $100 to do this, Walmart did it for $40 including new valve stems and balancing (although you never know what you might encounter at your local Walmart store).
