Are the Audi A8 and BMW 7 series really comparable to the 9000? I am looking more at A4/A6's and the 3 and 5 series bimmers. At least the gas mileages of these will be a little more comparable to the 9k.
One car I might be interested in looking at further is the Mazdaspeed 3. Probably a little small (shame they don't do the Mazdaspeed 6 in a wagon)but easy to find in a stick and great performance figures.
What about the Volvo V70? Gas mileage not as good as the 9k, but I had a late model 850 T5 and liked it...except for the automatic transmission. V70's with sticks are available but not easy to find.
Good luck with your search. Luckily my 9k has *only* 188,000 miles on it so I should be good for a while yet!
