Intake Air Temperature Sensor Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Thu, 10 May 2012 16:25:13 In Reply to: Re: intake temp sensor performance problem, Simon S, Thu, 10 May 2012 14:14:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The sensor on the "silver tube" is the intake air temp sensor - informs the ECU about the temperature of the pressurized (and heated, as in PV=nRT) air being delivered to the intake of the engine. You may try plugging it back in, as just wiping off the contacts sometimes restores the circuit to the proper resistance range. Perhaps cleaning it off with some solvent will do the trick? Otherwise, you can probably buy a generic sensor for this part, the SAAB part is pricey, i.e. $49 at Eeuroparts.
