Low Speed Radiator Fan Inop Posted by 2 Saabs [Email] |
I need help. I have 1993 Saab 9000 non-turbo that the low speed fan will not kick in and so neither does the high speed fan. I really hate it when the water temp goes almost into the red so I have rewired the high speed fan to start first. Only a couple of blow fuses so far. I have done the following troubleshooting:
New low speed relay
New thermoswitch
Jumper at low speed relay - fan works
Jumper at high speed relay - fan works at warp speed
Jumper at thermoswitch blue/white wire - fan works high speed fan
Jumper at blue wire - no fan but has 12 volts
Resistor ohms .7 which is same as new resistor from Mouser
Checked wire under radiator and I cannot see any breaks or corrosion plus I get 12 volts.
I opened the low speed relay and manually closed the contact, the low speed fan works. So, my question is where do I have a ground or a bad component?
