I like the car. Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 04:37:46 In Reply to: Re: ABS pump replacement advice, dref, Mon, 9 Jul 2012 18:40:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is rude and unclultured and a blast to drive. This specific year was the zenith of the old body style. It had the stiffer suspension, 16 inch wheels, the big engine and no TCS. I got a set of used Group 6 chips and put a 3 inch down pipe on it. With the short gearing and the extra torque, the car is really quick around town. Of course, 3000 RPMs at 70 MPH means I'm never going to get more than 27-28 MPG on the highway.
Getting rid of the ABS, would require replumbing the whole car because the current system only runs a single brake line back to the rear wheels. Not to mention removing the master cylinder, which at that point, I might as well put in the master cylinder I have.
