Not too hard. The key switch is the needed part; a little pot-metal stop inside it breaks off and can't be repaired.
To get at it you take the shroud off below the steering wheel, several screws and then I think it has clips at the edges.
The key switch is held to the key cylinder by two hollow allen set screws, very small, metric. Back them off and the switch will come off. Then unplug the fat multiplug.
Doing a search on here may reveal the size of those set screws, and the number and type of screws to remove to get shroud off.
I'm pretty sure Eeuroparts sells the switch, and maybe your local dealer if you still have one. Last I bought a new one it was I think around $60. I have a few on hand I've pulled from wrecks at junkyard.
The money you pay for your new one will teach you to be careful in future. It's easy to twist too hard if you don't know your own strength. Turned all the way is turned enough, no need to twist hard against the stop.
Oh, yeah, fix it soon before you accidentally burn up your starter!
