SRS light - AirBag fuse pulled

The SRS light on my '93 9000 Aero had been on for over a year. About a month ago I had to pull the AirBag fuse to get the SRS light to go out so I could get the car to pass inspection.
A week ago, the SRS light came back on. How is this even possible with the fuse pulled to the airbag system that supplies power to the light?
I've read up on removing the SRS ECU/air bag, but I dont have the time to pull the SRS ECU and the airbag right now.
Any ideas?
