Understand the sentiment.
But we do tend towards Myopia :-) Especially after a long involvement.
Son got rid of his 9k Aero (crusher) and replaced it with a (yeah I know Ehttp://www.. Accord ) but it has proven Faster than his Aero was and handles Much better.. All true, as I've driven it quite a bit by now.
Better fuel mileages as well.. not likely they could be worse tho.
Doesn't have the cargo capacity (large Hatch) and the leather is not great.. But it IS as reliable as a rock with solid historical/statistical expectation that it will continue to be so.. for as long as he chooses to own it.
Point being; there are Many Current and semi current machines 'out there' that can happily replace Our Saabs. Auto design has moved on since '84
The Real issue :-..)Unlikely we can buy these for the 2 Cents on the Dollar that we paid for our unloved Saabs
Although 2003 to 2009 Mercedes are a possible as their resales are in the toilet.
IE: Neighbor cannot sell his 2004 CLK350 which is Showroom 'new' and has 50K miles. It even has AC seats :-) Frankly a stunning car.
Manufacturer wide Electrical issues make it pricey to maintain though.
Just up the typical Saabist's Alley?
No I don't want it/ another lifelong project..too old and too impatient these days.
