The new belt tensioner arrived today.
I have to make myself a new tool for compressing the tensioner before I can put it on, though. I don't like the standard flat plate with two bolts poking through it, so I'm making a better one, with a jackscrew in it so that I can use it to both compress and hold the tensioner, and do it all from the top of the engine (with a suitable socket extension).
I installed the new coolant hoses to the new water pump (lower radiator hose, and overflow tank to water pump hose), along with the brand new expansion tank and coolant level sensor.
I also got the oil cooler lines figured out. The top oil cooler line screws in next to the filter, the shorter bottom line screws in to the left (closer to the belt) side port.
I also re-mounted the A/C compressor, and replaced the missing nut on the exhaust bracket that comes off the back of the engine. Now the exhaust won't hang down in that particularly sad way. Small victories.
All I have left to do now is to re-install the air intake hose and that little tiny coolant line that dips down in there. What the heck is that thing for, anyhow?
Then it's on with the valve cover, fill it with oil and coolant, then check for leaks before I pull the fuel pump fuse and turn it over a few times.
I think at that point, I should double check everything to make sure it's hooked up, and I didn't leave a rag someplace bad, and I'll give it a start for reals.
Any advice from those of you who've done this before, or does my plan look pretty solid?
