My car has started making loud noise/vibrations when the engine in the 1800 - 2000 RPM range; of course this is right in the heart of the area where I spend a lot of driving time. Exhaust is in good shape, flex pipe was replaced four months ago, other OEM parts are about two years old. Car is about to turn 200,000 miles.

Is this symptom associated with bad engine mounts? I know the drill to test them, i.e. remove the fender liner and pry the engine up, but before I commit the time to do that, is this a likely source of the noise?
