I would do what Fred suggested only I would say that I would use hydraulic (brake) metal line as it is cheaper than copper. You can buy a cheap tubing bending tool which your mechanic already would have. For those sections that require flexibility, you use high pressure fuel injection hose which is not expensive. Just flare the end of the metal line and use fuel injection hose clamps to attach the hose to the metal line, do not use standard type hose clamps.
For that matter you could just run fuel injection hose all the way from the fuel filter to the fuel rail.
I had a section of the plastic line from the fuel rail down the back side of the engine that needed to be replaced because a mouse chewed through the line. I used fuel injection hose with fuel injection clamps. Been on there 3 years now, no problems.
