I have a '94 and would LOVE to do this modification, but have been told that while *anything* is possible with enough time, money, parts, and knowledge the easier path would be to hand the car over to a shop that specializes in these things. Usually that means a stereo/alarm install shop. So I'm going to most probably go that route and have a remote start done at the same time.
My understanding is that for just about the same money you'd spend sourcing all the parts to do this, you'd spend about the same going with something aftermarket.
In order to do it using OEM from a post 94 car, you need to do everything along with it, meaning, lock cylinders, alarms, actuators, etc.
in other words, its a huge job as a good portion of the interior needs to come out, you take your old stuff out, and put new stuff in.
you have to 100% eliminate the old system, and sub in the new system.
from what I've been instructed, we can't just simply swap out alarm boxes, throw a working fob at it, and poof we're done.
hopefully I'm wrong, because its the only thing that lacks for me in my car. that and a decent reverse light(s).
