yes, all the lights show up on the startup test, then they all go out except the anti-lock brake light which has been one for years (sensor issue i think).
mostly short trips lately, but the battery actually seemed ok, and it was reading 14 volts during those trips, until now.
battery also tests over 12 volts with the car off. can't find anything obviously loose, unfortunately.
i just noticed advance autoparts has 20% off purchase of over $100 today so i just ordered a rebuilt 115amp alt. if i figure something else out in the meantime or in the process of removing the old one, i figure i can return it unused.
i also seem to recall this alternator had an internal voltage regulator, but i'm not positive. i'm also thinking it might be older than 7 years old, maybe 8 or 9. also remembered my last attempt with a voltage regulator replacement on my original 93 alternator worked for about a year before the voltage started dropping, so i figure i'll save myself some future effort and just replace the whole thing...
what throws me is that the battery/charging light isn't on, but maybe something failed inside the alternator so the light isn't lighting up. i'm just guessing
