I got stranded Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Tue, 27 Nov 2012 06:20:58 In Reply to: Fuel pump, Tfletch3, Mon, 26 Nov 2012 16:50:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I waited too long on both my C900 and 9000 CSE to replace the pump, got stranded with each!! So I would heartily recommend a pre-emptive replacement. I would be wary of non-OEM replacements unless they have a proven track record.
On the 9000 I replaced just the pump cartridge with a Walbro replacement purchased I think from Eeurparts, using the procedure documented at twinsaabs.com. The problem with this method is making sure you use fuel hose that is rated as submersible in gasoline. I was able to use the existing plastic fuel line with a clamp to make sure it doesn't come loose.
