I may be wrong, but it appears to me that: older 900 (1991 and older)brains have a bracket on the back side, because they are held in by 2 Torx screws. Older 9000 (1991 and older) have a clean case, no bracket. The 900 bracket could be removed (Dremel,hacksaw/etc.) to make it snap into the 9000 location. Electrical connectors are the same for 1992 and up 900/9000. Also same connector (older type) for 1992 and up 900/9000. I think they will interchange year-for-year, BUT, an adaptor is needed to install the old (reliable) one into the newer (always broken) applications. I think this is correct, but maybe someone could confirm or deny this? Vern
