Dana - - Bondo is brittle as heck, no real bonding strength, but if you never accidentally push on the transplanted piece and if you bridge well over the gap on the back side, maybe just maybe it would work, sort of.
JB Weld or some other epoxy might do it, with same cautions about spreading it broad on back side.
You might want to work some pigment or paint of either wood tone or contrasting, say black, into whatever you use to fill those gaps. You can mix a fair amount of oil paint into epoxy and still have it be plenty strong, and color match it to wherever you're using it.
I have filled holes left in door panels on other cars this way, putting a piece of masking tape over outside of hole, then filling from back with epoxy. When it's set and you pull the masking tape off it leaves a flat-surfaced epoxy that's flush with the finished surface. Can do that with silicone too. That also could be used as your glue-filler, but it's pretty weak.
My idea is, maybe there's some way uyou can fasten something behind the loose piece, a piece of steel rod across the gap in behind, maybe? Or a couple lengths of stiff wire? Anything to back up and support the piece you're adding in. Or, maybe some angle brackets, custom cut out of some sheet metal.
