It is a special tool that mechanics use to drive in the freeze plugs.
It allows you to come in from an angle with a rod like shaft with a disc at the end that the freeze plug fit over.
This way you can just hammer away until the freeze plug is seated and the tool disc won't allow it to go too deep in.
Without that tool it can be a challenge to get it done correctly.
One of these jobs that can turn into a nightmare but is a breeze with the right tools.
