Feel how they work for a few months or even a year?... Then complain.
Full soft is the OEM setup.. track tested by Koni's Tech Geeks.
Koni has setup/valved a ..Lot.. of shock fitments, for 60+ years...they know their craft.
Difficulty of adjustment is intentional according to their techies.. May even be true.. Dunno.
To keep the owners from randomly messing up their settings.. based on misconstrued opinion.
I know when I had a pair of Illuminas I was constantly dicking (and that's an accurate descriptor :-) with their wayyy too easy to make adjustment. A numbered dial on the top of the strut.. turn it and screw it up inside of 3 seconds.. Took me several months to comprehend that the default setting was the most effective for my roads/uses.

Agree entirely with the PITA involved to fit Front Konis into existing shock struts..
Can only guess that it's a Cost cutter for an expected low sales shock.
Although I have fitted Bilsteins that required that same cut 'n fit nonsense. They are not sainted either
