Not sure if that particular fuel system has a bleed past the throttle or not. The earlier cars did, and I'm pretty sure the later models rely entirely on the valve. As far as the throttle switch goes - you basically need to loosen it enough that the throttle plate can close all the way, but still sets the idle switch contact when at idle.
