I followed this pretty closely and got the job done in about 4 hours, which included a trip to Home Depot to pick up some random punch that I needed to get the fan cage off my old motor to put on the one new.
Biggest help for me was removing the AC evaporator completely. My AC hadn't worked in years so I was fine with removing it without having it evacuated first. The job would have been way harder if that had to stay in, and I have pretty small hands.
Good luck.
