Not sure I have a solution per we but a couple ideas maybe...

One is to try the recalibration of the unit by pressing the vent and auto buttons simultaneously. The ACC should run through a series of tests, and if it encounters errors, will display the number of errors it finds in the temperature display. But only for a second. Won't tell you what the errors are unfortunately but the hope is it will clear the problem in the process.

The other thing is to see if any fuses are popped, or if the wiring at the back of the unit is loose or damaged.

Based on my limited understanding of these units, however, it sounds more likely you'll need a new ACC unit. If you do, bear in mind that not all years are compatible, so you'll need to find the version that works for your 92 model year. Can't remember where the model year break is, but a search of the archives might clear that up.

Good thing the AC is working at least!
