If your fluid is full, then a replacement sounds like it's in your future. It's not a difficult job, but it's a little bit of a tight fit. In my opinion, getting the few items out of the way is harder than actually switching out the pump. If you go in from the wheel well, you'll need to take off the tire, plastic wheel well cover, and serp belt. Once you have those three items off, you'll just need to remove the 2 hoses that attach to the pump and the couple bolts that secure the pump. Don't forget that you can put the serp belt back on and test the install before you put the tire and plastic whell lining back together. Better to discover a leak with everything apart than putting it all back together and then discovering a leak.
As to your question about whether you can do it yourself or not; depending on your age and flexibility, it's probably a 2-wrench job on a 5-wrench difficulty scale.
I installed a used one on my car because if I get 50K out of a used one, I'm willing to do the job again in 4 years versus paying the cost of a new one that may still only last for 4 years. I think I got my used one for $15 and I'm about 10K miles into my expected 50K. I've been seeing a lot of complaints on here lately about chinese-built crap that fails under warrenty but still requires the labor involved in the replacement.
