If you disconnect the negative battery cable and hook up a voltage meter to read the current between the cable and the negative battery post, you can see how many amps of current you're draining from you battery at rest. You normally have to change the way your cables are hooked into your meter to do this test, but good meters are made to check this. The meter should read near 0, except for a couple minor memory drains for the clock, radio, and alarm (maybe). Anything over about 1/4 amp would start to concern me. Anything over an amp would drain your battery in a matter of a week or so. If you have a drain on your battery at rest, you can start pulling fuses and watch the amps on your meter drop when you open the circuit that is pulling the power and troubleshoot from there.
If you don't have a good meter, you can alternatively hook up a 12V lightbulb between the negative battery post and disconnected negative battery cable. The light bulb will light up to burn off the power in the same way that the meter will just read the power.
Let us know if you need further clarification.
