My mechanic, a SAAB specialist, tells me that a number of bad things can occur when various systems in the car can no longer sense what speed you're going. In my case, after over a month, the only obvious thing is that my cruise control no longer functions at all. He mentioned a number of issues like ABS brakes not working right, or stalling-when running issues, especially between gears when car can't figure out how fast you're going.
My car has only 120K, and tranny/clutch have always worked fine, so I sure hope to postphone any expensive tranny work for a good long while. Any opinions on the wisdom of just keeping driving it until some noticeable issues arise?
