People have tried all kinds of cleaners to clean out the BPC, with mixed results.
The list includes:
Electrical contact cleaner
Liquid Wrench
WD-40
CRC's Brakleen
Fantastic
What you have inside is a stuck disk that is gummed up by a combination of oil and tiny bits of metal that look like brass. The ideal cleaner will dissolve and flush out the oily goo along with the metal bits so that the disk can move, and the ideal cleaner won't leave behind a deposit, which is why some folks say don't use WD-40.
I had some success with Fantastic, but it took a lot of effort and patience and the cure didn't last very long.
Don't lose that link to the T7 BPC cure at Newton Systems. You will need it soon. It works great.
