Me and my 1996 9000 CSE live in VA. Before departure I installed a new fuel pump and a new set of the proper NGK plugs. We are currently in Cheyenne, WY en-route to the convention. Earlier today, about 20 miles after buying fuel, I was traveling on I-80 in Nebraska at about 80 MPH. Suddenly my car began to run very rough. The CHECK ENGINE light illuminated. I turned cruise control off and gently accelerated back to 80 without difficulty. I turned the cruise control back on and it happened again when a hill was encountered. I continued west and it kept recurring. After 100 miles or so I pulled in to a rest area. It would not idle and died. I changed the ignition cassette and it started and ran fine until I encountered hills. The problem is still there but it is not as bad with this cassette but it still happens. I will pull the plugs, which have 2,000 miles on them, and replace them in the AM if they are fouled. When this problem occurs the boost gauge bounces all over the place. I have driven 300 miles since my Nebraska fueling. I just filled up here in Wyoming and added Techron. The EDU told me that my MPG was 21.5. My phone's calculator tells me that my actual MPG was 26.8. ANYONE WITH IDEAS PLEASE RESPOND. Thanks.
