Thanks for the responses. I don't think this car sat much at all. I think it was used regularly before I got it, but obviously it wasn't doing any monstrous cummuting. Since I've had it, it's been being used. Sometimes it'll sit for a week while I drive a different car, but no more than that really. It was apart for two weeks with the clutch business, but I did the exhaust after that. I even looked in the tail of the cat when I took off the flex pipe. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps I overlooked the russets? Had to be something physically blocking the exhaust path though, because if it was some sort of temporarily failed vac pulloff type of thing, I'm sure it would have thrown up a CEL at minimum. Car is running fine today so I'm not gonna think too much more about it. I can't help but think that if I didn't just mash the pedal, I'd still have the problem. I can also imagine some scumbag mechanic telling me after I left the car for a day, that he pulled all sorts of stuff apart, blew out the wizinstaff regulator, unplugged the diaflagulator and handed me a bill for $314.00. You guys know those types of mechanics are out there! Glad it "fixed itself". Cheers, Bob T.
