Update. I had to drive to Hanover yesterday and the stereo worked for a little over an hour before it cut out. I shut it off for a half hour and it worked again. I worked all the way home, about 2 hours. I think it's temperature related. If it's cold enough, it works. Once it gets hot, it cuts out with an audio thump. I should have grabbed the audio tools and the head unit from the CSE before I left and I could have swapped them out once I got to my destination and narrowed it down. I'll have to do that the next time I take an extended drive.
