(and, yes, Ari's checklist is great ... used it last week)
1) DI cassette
2) [tie] fuel pump / fuel pump relay
4) crank position sensor [CPS]
5) idk ... any takers? I think every 9K I've ever had on the side of the road was one of the above.
I'm ignoring a really low voltage battery. Obviously, if the jump start fixes things ...
Of course, if it is indeed the DI cassette, make sure to replace the spark plugs ASAP with NGK BCPR-7ESII, gapped 1.0 mm. A cracked insulator, old plugs, cheap plugs, non-NGK copper core plugs ... they will 'eat' the DI cassette alive.
Also: as long as I'm ranting away, don't bother with the cheaper $179 DI made in Taiwan. Yeah, it says ProParts Sweden, or it's sold by great guys [eEuroparts, AutoHausAZ, etc] and some of them will even offer a warranty. Well, after getting one replaced via warranty and now, having a second one die approx a year / 10,000 miles later, I'm done. Forget it. Buy a good, used one from a reputable Saab guy or Saab mechanic from the classifieds here and put it in the trunk. Put a OEM made in Sweden Saab red DI in the engine, with a brand new set of plugs [and don't forget the dielectric grease in the boots] and you'l be miles ahead in reliability. Suck up the $400 and think of the cost of a tow truck, being late, stuck outside in bad weather, etc.
