Bought another 9000 Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Sun, 24 Jan 2016 06:57:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought another 97 9000 CSE yesterday. It's the Cirrus White automatic that was/is on the Boston Craigslist. I looked at it a few weeks ago but passed as I don't care for white and I wanted a 5-spd. After looking at most of the "hopefuls" in the southern NH eastern MA area there just weren't anything around that I liked. So I settled. The car is pretty clean and drives fine. It has a laundry list of stuff that needs to be addressed but nothing I saw scared me away. It needs the upper motor mount, new vacuum lines and check valve, rocker cover gasket, tranny cooler seals, a new SID (or it's just unplugged), new antenna, locks, hinges and door handles lubed, washer bottle leak, new PS visor......pretty much all the usual 9000 stuff. I'll change the oil and tranny fluid and filter and drive it. It has a solid body right now but you can see the start of rust here and there. The bottoms of both A-pillars have small bubbles starting. That is surprising since it appears to have the original Sekurit windshield. It has some rust starting behind the rear wheels on the inner fender panel. Overall pretty solid. Too bad it's white....and an automatic. It's no Scarab Green 97 Aero 5-spd but it'll do until another good one comes along.
