Is there a bracket for the outside air temp sensor? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Tue, 26 Jul 2016 19:44:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First the good news: I finally replaced the outside air temperature sensor on my 1994 9000 Aero and instantly the A/C is cooling much better. The old sensor was reading at least 10 degrees too cold and was probably fooling the ACC into mixing in too much outside air; with proper information, it's apparently running more recirculation and cooling much better.
My car had been run into something immovable at some point (under a previous owner) and the spoiler is damaged. The outside air temp sensor was just hanging in the air close to the left side foglamp, but I have to believe that there is some place where it should mount - and which may be missing. I found a hole in a steel cross member above the foglamp that can accommodate the sensor, but there is limited air circulation there and it reads quite high after some driving. Is there supposed to be a bracket for the sensor? Any pictures?
