That's the problem in a big city like this.
You could have a really great mechanic in the next street corner but not knowing about him because they don't have a huge flashing neon sign saying they are the best.
The ones that do have the neon sign you usually don't want to patronize anyway because they need the big display to reel in new fish for everyone they loose due to poor workmanship.
Many people around the country would LOVE if they ONLY had to drive 40 min to a good mechanic but I have had many through the years that would like if I were closer to them since they need to drive 15-20 to get to me.
So they take the car to some local dealership or mechanic and get the usual long list of things they have to do right away because the wheels will fall off the car otherwise.
If I'm lucky, they call me and ask about the repairs and I have to take the car in to verify that no, they still don't need them or that, yes, since it is 5 or 7K miles since I saw the car, you need the repairs now.
There are probably several customers I never hear from again that gets angry at me for not telling them they needed the repair the other shop suggest is acutely needed, but the reason I didn't tell them is because they did not or still don't need it done.
Oh well, you can't please everyone.
