I agree. Should charge once wiring corrected. But it's not charging at all.
Possibly the new (rebuilt) alt came defective and our wiring mistake has nothing to do with it. Bulb in dash original car is unmolested. I will put original alt back. Ran out of time today. I think tach isnt working due to coincidental crank sensor on its way out. It does seem to ping a little and run uneven at idle. Unless there is wiring that i could have disturbed doing the head. Checked the DI plug carefully looked good.
