Head Gasket toast?

So we have a 1997 Saab 9000 CSE automatic with 139k miles. Its a nice Dark blue color, maybe it is the so-called 'Anniversary' edition? It has the Aero body color bumpers, etc. Super Aero 16 inch wheels, and the airplane logo seats.
Anyways, since I don't have a coolant pressure tester (yet) or a leak down test setup, I am trying to diagnose what may be a simple and singular problem:
1. Coolant in reservoir disappears quite quickly. After a short time idling or driving around the block it triggers 'CHECK RADIATOR LEVEL'. No external leaks to be seen. No bubbling of exhaust gases were observed in reservoir. Exhaust does not seem exessively vaporous, but again it is frigid cold here and all engines are putting out visible condensation.
2. Oil level is a bit high, and a bit milky looking.
3. Plugs (3 of 4)were a sooty, almost oily black. the Fourth plug is still in head-it was stuck and I didn't want to hear a 'snap' noise come from it and a resulting 's**t' noise from myself.
Engine starts and runs. A bit of lumpy unsmooth idle. I have yet to
shine light to inspect tops of cylinders for water washing.
So, is a HG replacement job calling?
