Hit a bump....now she wobbles
Posted by Mike Singh [Email] (more from Mike Singh) on Thu, 5 Jul 2018 05:25:57
Coming home, last night, I hit some rather large bumps (the Mass Pike, of course) at 75pmh. Close to home, I noticed some vibration that hadn't been there before. It became more pronounced, and the car started shaking.
By the time I got to my exit, the car was shuddering, and I was convinced that I had a flat. When it begin to wobble pretty badly, I pulled over into a parking spot, convinced I had a flat.
All four tires were fine, surprisingly.
I ended up walking home, but will probably get it towed, tonight. Any ideas what might have happened? The wheels didn't look bent at all. Wheel bearing?
I will say- the car was exhibiting behavior where- if I hit the boost hard or hit a pot hole- the steering wheel would turn or lock up as if on rails (briefly). Possibly I damaged a control arm?
Thanks so much, in advance, for any advice. Happy independence day!
