Yes. The headlights function just fine.
To get back to the original subject, no shift indicator light on the console, I found a reference to removing the cover around the shift lever. There are two caps (covering screws?) one on either side of the console. I will attempt to get at these screws in the next few days. Perhaps I will find a burned out bulb that will fix my original issue.
