Trans died then can go again after cold start
Posted by CE (more from CE) on Thu, 6 Dec 2018 01:13:59
Car is '94 Aero auto.
It ran fine for years but just last week we finish a long trip
then next day we try to go out for dinner but the car just can make 1 miles from home.
The car shift just fine to one point it felt slippery in third gear.
After that we could hear whining from the box and then there's no gear at all.
Stop the car, move selector to R or D or 3,2,1. Nothing happenned, just no gear.
We then go to nearby community to find some food and call for towing.
After 1 hr elapsed the trans then can go again. But whining is there so
decided to tow.
What can cause this problem? ATF is full will ok red color.
Does it sounds like minor or we need a new trans?
