-Have NOT checked pressure level....will do as needed, however,
- I did just simply remove relay, look at it, and put it back....it was the silver kind and I cannot say how long it has worked, as car is new to me for two months, but it is 1996 with 225K miles....and I suspect its original.
Oddly (though with intermitten issues everything is odd) since I took relay out to look at and write my original post, I have NOT had any issues with the ACC system turning off and on erratically (3 days so far...which considering it was an usual occurrence at start-up, seems better.)
So not yet resolved, whether relay, ground fault, or compressor pressure...
However, and this is a different, coincidental(?), opera:
The very next day after posting, I did start hearing an odd groaning noise at start and performing the ACC fault test, accompanied by a classic behind the dash clicking (that has in past cars been symptoms of a of blend door gearings).... and today, three days later it seems like a blend door would not close and I got HI heat, hot air-- even when setting ACC to LOW, calling for cold cold air con---
....I popped the ACC out to have a quick look, and when I started car up to watch any movement of servo latches and etc....
I got nice freezing air conditioned air! Will see this afternoon what happens. Maybe blend door, servo latch issue, though i have read that interior temp sensor failure can lead to similar symptoms?
I am pretty sure this is coincidental from my power/relay issue...and will investigate the servo and blend door latches and temp sensor from inside car and through aquarium tank when I next get a chance.
If I can find a setting that gives me only cold air, and does not repeat the extreme heat, ill be a-ok until i can remedy....(its only just in the 90's here in balto. not yet 100 and 99% humidity.)
An Aside of an aside: i do have a reconditioned walnut dash, and an excellent condition dash pad, that I have been meaning to install, along with replacing the aftermarket stereo with stock units...
maybe this whole issue will prompt be to giddy-up on that.
thanks, all, for thoughts (ground fault power issues or compressor pressure)....
will keep posted about original issue...i feel the second, newer one has probably been dealt with in other threads plenty of times ?
