It was a muggy Saturday evening when I stared my trusty-not-so-trusty 1991 9kt, this weekend.
As soon as the engine fired up, I noticed smoke coming out of the central heating vents. The smell was neither oil nor coolant, but of plastic. Toxic. I killed the engine and popped the hood, thinking it must surely be demise.
Nothing was out of place, though, except for a line to the breather valve that seemed to have come undone. I replaced it, and got back into the car.
Fired it up again- no smoke, but now the ACC blower is permanently on high. The ACC unit lights up with the rest of the dash, but none of my button presses have an effect on it.
Did the ACC get toasted? For a year, now, it's been exhibiting strange behavior where sometimes the little green dots next to "econ" and "auto" will not be lit, or the heat won't circulate.
Any advise or similar scenarios would be appreciated!
