Hello:
I have a recently acquired 1996 CSE, low mileage and pretty rust-free but the dirtiest and most neglected car I have ever had.
The heater is stuck on hot. I removed the evaporator box today and the flap and arm are fine but the cable moves freely (no connection with the servo motor). I heard the sound of a servo when I turned on the ignition but did not as I went up and down between LO and HI temperature settings.
Is it possible that the cabin sensor is so plugged with dirt it is preventing an otherwise healthy servo motor from responding to the controls?
Also do I have to stare down the air bag to either replace the servo motor or restore the connection with the cable.
Thanks!
