Replaced my battery .. finally.
Had to enter the Radio code, which I did.
The radio worked albeit a bit erratically tho . Odd presets, where there should be none.
Iffy band selections. Scratchy sounds. Tape player worked, but self ejected after a few mins of playback.. on repeated tries. Clearly something was amiss.
Subsequently had to remove the battery a few mins later as I hadn't fully seated it in it's mounting holdowns.
Went to re enter the radio code at the prompt But Despite saying 'Code in' pressing the number buttons does not result in numbers appearing on the on the radio's screen. At all .. Ever.. over night waiting.. Holding the Band button for Minutes.. Nothing whelps Pulling the labelled radio fuse results in the Code In display reducing in brightness.. Some. Thought perhaps ambient moisture might have somehow affected the removeable Keypad so I brought it inside over night. No results from that tho.
So the silly thing is Still getting power sans it's Fuse. VERY strange indeed. Haven't tried pulling off a Battery terminal. Will try tomorrow. Dunno If relevant, but the bottom right corner of the radio display shows a Ch 8 image. Never seen that previously.
This some error code ..Or?
Help..?
Bit discouraging.. as Wife and Son both tell me to lose the car, being well past it's best by date.
I refuse.. so far.
