New to me Saab 9000 CSE turbo has 280,700 miles on the original engine, previous owner bought the car at 48K in 1999 and run it with conventional 20W50 and frequent oil changes. Turbo replaced (or rebuilt) in 2015. Can't access the leak condition, as the car was stored for last couple of years and the engine has been cleaned at some point -- everything looks tidy. Owner's manual mentioned 20W50 as a possible choice for ambient temperatures over 15C (Southern California, so that works most of the time). Looking for recommendations on what to use, don't think it's prudent to go full synthetic at this mileage, but 20W50 seems a little thick to me -- never used it in any of my cars, but once spoke to an older Volvo guy who said they never used any other oil than conventional 20W50 in their shop (that was in the 1980's and early 90's, turbo engines and all)
